Today, I did things slightly in reverse. Usually, I end my Sundays by eating a nice dinner with the hubby, and settling into my comfy clothes to paint my nails. Today, however, we were going brunchin', and I wanted to get my nails all spiffy for the outing. I woke up at 7:30 a.m., had some coffee, watched a bit of TV, and then busted out my nail polish to try out my new Zoya polishes. We were meeting my parents, my brother, and his fiance for brunch, and I was about done with my naked nails. I had been sporting a clear base coat for a few days that is supposed to help my nails grow stronger - we'll see how that works out...
So, here's the mani I came up with. I finally found a purple polish I love - Perrie by Zoya! I am not a huge fan of purple in general, and I've been unsuccessful in finding a purple polish that I actually wanted to wear on my nails. Well, look no further, I have found Perrie! I got this polish as part of the "3 Free" promo that Zoya ran at the beginning of January, and I'm so happy that I did. (Click here to see the mystery polishes that were included in that promo). I think the reason that I like Perrie so much is because it's a lighter shade of purple and has some pink undertones. It's perfect! I paired it with Tomoko, a Zoya pixidust, that I also snatched up in the recent promo. Tomoko is a gold micro glitter textured polish. One of the reasons I love it is because it's a soft gold, and not brassy in color. It doesn't dry smooth, but instead has almost a sandpaper feel to it when it dries...a soft sandpaper, if that's a thing. The point is, it's textured, but it's not going to catch or snag on things. Both of these polishes have amazing formulas. I also think they really compliment each other, and look beautiful together. These polishes will definitely get a lot of wear!
So with the mani complete..it's time for BRUNCH! The hubby and I don't go brunchin' often, but when we do...Mmmmmm! I love it! We went to Townhall in Ohio City in Cleveland, and naturally started off with some tasty beverages! My drink of choice, a Blood Mary. THIS WAS HANDS DOWN THE BEST BLOODY MARY I HAVE EVER HAD! The mix was homemade, and tasted sooo fresh! It's been a long time since I've had a Bloody Mary where they actually put a celery stalk in it. I love that! You get to drink AND eat your beverage. I need to figure out a dupe for this recipe. It was soooo much better than the store bought Bloody Mary mixes.
Next up, eggs benedict. YUMMO! English muffin, eggs, tomato, sausage, hollandaise sauce, basil. Seriously one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. And the rosemary breakfast potatoes? AMAZING!
With our bellies full, the hubby and I headed home to relax for the rest of the day. The remainer of this Sunday will consist of me snuggling up on the couch watching movies in my PJ's until the Grammy's start tonight. I might throw in some laundry, too! I love lazy Sundays!
Do you have a nail polish shade that you've struggled to love? What was the polish that won you over? What's your Perrie?
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you stop by often!
