Moscow Mule
The Moscow Mule is a delicious vodka cocktail that is best when served in its traditional copper mug.
Here's what you'll need:
Fill your copper mug with ice. Add vodka and lime juice, then ginger beer. Stir (do not shake). Garnish with a lime wedge. Enjoy! If you like your drink a little sweeter, you can add simple syrup. I don't like the added sweetness, so I choose to drink mine without. The choice is yours, and yours alone! |

Pig Candy
This little treat is guaranteed to impress your guests, and bacon lovers for sure! If you search the internet, you'll find tons and tons of recipes for Pig Candy, but the hubby and I were introduced to it by www.nakedwhiz.com, and we absolutely love it! I always seem to run out of the brown sugar topping when I make it, so I've tweaked the measurements slightly. Also, we make ours on the Big Green Egg (ceramic charcoal smoker), but you can cook this in the oven as well. Just keep an eye on it - you don't want it to burn!
Here's what you'll need:
First, you will need to create a pan to cook your bacon on, something to catch all that grease that will be produced. If you are cooking this on a Big Green Egg, you need to make sure that what you use will fit on your egg. We have a large egg, and the recommended size pan is 10" x 15", with a slightly larger grill topper to place over it. Some recipes suggest using a cookie sheet, but hubby and I make a ton of this at a time, and the roaster pan can catch more grease than a cookie sheet. In order to get the contraption to fit on your egg, you need to fold down the sides of the grill topper (especially the corners), because it's a pretty tight fit on a large egg. But I promise, it will fit! Obviously, if you are cooking this in the oven, you only need to worry about size restrictions of your specific oven, which probably won't be as tight. Heat up your egg to 350 degrees (same temp if cooking in the oven). Line up your thick sliced bacon on the grill topper/roaster pan that you created. It's really important that you use thick sliced bacon for this recipe to get the full effect! Mix the brown sugar and cayenne pepper together in a bowl, and sprinkle half of the mixture liberally over of the bacon. Place in the egg (or oven), and cook for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, flip the bacon and sprinkle the remaining brown sugar mixture on the bacon. Cook for another 15 minutes. Once done, your bacon may still seem a little bit flimsy, but that's ok! As it cools, the sugar will begin to harden, and the bacon will stiffen up as well. Repeat the above steps until you've cooked all your bacon. We cooked 3 lbs of bacon since we were taking it as a side dish for Thanksgiving. Your guests will be hooked, and this stuff goes fast so 10 pieces of bacon won't be enough. ! TIP: When you remove the bacon from the pan, place it on a plate to cool. Do not place it on paper towels, or the stickiness of the sugar will bond the paper towel to your bacon, and your bacon will be ruined! |

Vodka & Limonata (Vodka & Lemonade)
The Vodka & Limonata is a refreshing, sparkling vodka and lemonade cocktail. You'll be hooked!
Here's what you'll need: 1/2 can of San Pellegrino (165 ml, or 5 ½ oz.) 1 shot of Three Olives Vodka (44ml or 1 ½ oz.) Ice 8 oz. high ball glass Fill your glass with ice - I prefer crushed ice, but cubed ice works just as well. Pour in the shot of vodka, and pour in half of the San Pellegrino Limonata can. Give it a little mix-a-roo. Now, give yourself a pat on the back. That was a hard one! When you finish your drink, repeat the steps and finish off that can! Don't let a good thing go to waste! ! TIP: San Pellegrino can be pricey depending on where you buy it ($6-7 for a 6 pack). Try Walmart! They have it for $4.98! |
