It's almost that time of year! That time of year when everything in life turns GREEN for a day, and green food coloring gets some serious love. A few years ago, I even went out and bought this super sparkly green Shamrock shirt from Express. Sure, it may have been a bit expensive and somewhat overkill for a shirt that I literally wear once a year, but I LOVE IT and I always feel super festive when I have it on!
A Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow
No, I'm not Irish. I don't have any clear reason to love this holiday, but it's one of those fun holidays that is just an excuse to be goofy, drink some green beer, and eat some amazing corned beef. Yep, sounds good to me! Too bad it's on a Tuesday this year. :(
Now, it only makes sense that I show you a few St. Paddy's day mani ideas. The green polish used in each of the manis I'm about to show you is I-rush Luck by Sally Hansen (from the Insta-Dri line). This is the perfect green for St. Patrick's Day and it has an amazing formula! It's a one coater for sure (but I used 2 because I can never just paint 1 coat, haha).
I had a lot of fun creating these manis! I'm definitely not an artist, so if I can do these, so can you! Here we go!

I just love this one! It's so fun! To accomplish this look, paint your thumb, pointer, and middle finger green, your ring finger white, and your pinky gold. I chose to use Tomoko by Zoya, a textured pixidust glitter, for my pinky. I really thought the texture helped to portray the pot of gold look I was going for. Once the white polish on my ring finger was totally dry, I used a small nail art brush to freehand the rainbow. I wasn't worried about this being exactly perfect, but you could use nail vinyls or tape to make your lines more even and straight. I started with the red, and then very carefully painted stripes in rainbow order. I really like how this turned out!
It's All About the Shamrocks
Be Bold With Green Glitter
For this next idea, I decided to give the shamrocks some love. I used the same green I-rush Luck polish on my thumb, pointer, and middle fingers. I then used Mint Candy Apple by Essie on my ring finger, and a white polish on my pinky. The main focus here is the shamrock. Again, I decided to just free hand my take on a shamrock, using the darker green polish and a thin nail art brush. I started by drawing a small heart shape to make the first two clovers, then added two more clovers on each side, and a stem. It's not perfect, but I think you can at least tell that it's a shamrock. You could use a nail decal or stamp to achieve this look, too, if you aren't up for free handing it. I then added two thin green stripes to the pinky nail, and a white dot on each of the remaining green nails. I think it's pretty festive!
Now here's one for all you glitter lovers! When you aren't in the mood for nail art, a pop of glitter does the trick to spice up any mani. For this look, I first painted by nails green, then layered Green Ocean by Sinful Colors over top. Green Ocean is a light green jelly base filled with flakies and shards of different sized translucent glitters. Over a green polish, these take on a emerald/green/blue color, but when layered over white, the glitters take on a pink and orange hue, which really didn't appeal to me.
This mani reminded me of the Emerald City from Wizard of Oz! Absolutely stunning, and a great option for any one who wants a festive mani without tackling nail art.
Which one of these manis is your favorite?
