Tonight's Sunday night mani features "Wrap Me Up" from the new Essie Cashmere Matte collection. Prior to this, I was sporting a black & chevron mani, so this is definitely at the opposite end of the spectrum, but I absolutely love neutrals! I think they give you such a clean look, and they go with everything.
Essie describes "Wrap Me Up" as a whisper soft pink. If you are going for a pink, I wouldn't pick this color. While it's a neutral that is more pink toned than it is brown toned, I would not have described this as pink. Honestly, I don't think I would have mentioned pink at all if Essie didn't describe it in that way. It is also described as having a reflective pearl finish which gives it that cashmere look. I didn't notice an overwhelming pearl effect, but I actually prefer it that way.
I feel like I need to address my experience with the application of this polish. There are a few things that I struggled with.
1. It dries really fast.
2. The first coat is extremely streaky.
3. It requires a clean application, as it shows every brushstroke and imperfection in your nail.
I actually had to redo my mani because my first attempt was so incredibly streaky. I made sure to use a little bit more polish on the second go, and applied the polish a little bit thicker, which worked much better. I do really like the outcome and the matte finish, so overall I'm really happy with this polish once I figured out how to best apply it.

Now, you might be asking yourself...why does the title of this post mention beer? That's because I enjoyed a fantastic beer tonight during dinner, and afterwards while painting my nails! If you're new here, check out my first ever blog post - It'll explain everything. In a nutshell, this lady likes to enjoy some refreshing beverages while painting her nails! It's my "me time".
So, tonight, I had one of my most favorite beers - Fat Head's Bumble Berry. This caramel colored ale has a hint of honey and blueberry sweetness and is extremely refreshing. This is my go-to summer beer, although I enjoy it all year round (clearly, haha!). If you get this at the brewery, they top it off with actual fresh blueberries that bob around and dance in your drink (How cool is that???). I do the same at home, too! Although, mine aren't really dancing and bobbing like I envisioned...
Anyway, if you live in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Florida, or Oregon, you should look for this beer. If it's not available in your area, branch out and see if you can find a different fruity beer. There are a ton, and they are yum, yum, yum!

UPDATE: After two days of wearing this mani, it has chipped terribly. I didn't have a top coat on because I don't own a matte top coat at the moment, so that likely has something to do with it. Luckily, I change up my mani often, so I don't care that much, but spreading the word in the spirit of FULL DISCLOSURE!
Have you tried any of the Essie Matte Cashmere polishes? Which one is your favorite?
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you stop by often!
